Applixure Analytics
Device rewind now shows driver version removals
Previously, the device rewind view would only display device driver removals when the driver for a particular device was removed completely from a given agent. In Windows, updating a device driver may, in some cases, leave the old version(s) of the updated driver still physically installed on a system if some currently running process (i.e. application) in the operating system still accesses it. For instance, this could be some utility software running on a user's desktop. In these cases, the old driver version gets cleaned up by the Windows at a later date, and subsequently, it continues to show up in the Applixure Analytics' driver data for that agent device – effectively listing two (or more) driver versions of the same device driver in the data.
Rewind view has now been improved to explicitly list when only a version of the driver is removed; in this case, there still exists some other version of the driver on the same device. The "driver removed" categorisation, on the other hand, now tells when the driver was removed completely, in all version(s), from the system. Typically, driver version removal messages may show a day or a few days after that driver has been updated the last, as is the case in the screenshot above.
