Applixure Agent Configuration profile

For configuring per computer -settings for Applixure Analytics Agents running on macOS operating system, we provide a ready-made Configuration profiles for settings and granting full disk access privileges to the Agent. Configuration profiles can be found in the zip file when downloading the mass-deployment package for Analytics Agent for macOS.

Following configuration profiles are provided:

• Applixure Agent Permissions.mobileconfig
• Applixure Agent Permissions-signed.mobileconfig
• Applixure Agent Settings.mobileconfig

Permissions configuration profile

Both Applixure Agent Permissions.mobileconfig and Applixure Agent Permissions-signed.mobileconfig files contain the same privilege configuration settings for enabling Full Disk Access permission for the Applixure Agent, with one file being signed with Applixure's certificate.

Please note that installing permissions-related configuration profiles requires the use of MDM system, as the macOS refuses to allow the install of the permissions profile manually.

Applixure highly recommends deploying the permissions configuration profile to macOS devices running Applixure Agent, as some of the reporting data may be lacking if Agent is not granted Full Disk Access permissions to the machine.

 

Settings configuration profile

Applixure Agent Settings.mobileconfig file contains modifiable policy settings for the Applixure Agent, you can modify the file with any suitable text editor or configuration profile editor tool to customize which settings you want to deploy to the macOS devices for Applixure Agent.

Please note:

Only Applixure Agents for macOS starting from March 2026 can use the settings defined in the configuration profile. If you have deployed macOS Agent before that date, you will need to re-deploy the newest installation PKG to the macOS devices to ensure all settings could be honored by the Agent.

Following settings are available to configure:

 

DisablePersonalData

Disables Personal Data data collection by Applixure Agent. 

If you enable this policy, Applixure Agent will not collect and transmit following Personal Data -related information from the computers:

• Logon users' account names
• Logon users' full names
• Logon users' account picture (if any).

To disable personal data collection, change the <false/> to <true/> for DisablePersonalData keyed setting.

DisableUpdates

Disables Applixure Agent self-update mechanism.

If you enable this policy, Applixure Agent will not self-update itself from the Applixure platform by itself, and the Agent updating must be explicitly handled by the customer by regularly downloading the updated Applixure Agent PKG installer packages, and distributing them to the computers using suitable software mass-deployment tool such as an MDM.

Please note:

As Applixure support only Agents running with the latest code and Applixure is designed to keep itself up-to-date, you should not enable this policy unless compelling compliance or security reasons requires you to do so! 

To disable self-update, change the <false/> to <true/> for DisableUpdates keyed setting.
