What causes this alert/warning?
This alarm is caused by device having unusually large amount of cached data for Windows updates, having this amount of data can indicate Windows Automated Updates service's error condition and may well cause failures for operating system to update itself with latest updates.
Threshold values
- Cache size > 5 GB
- Number of affected devices over 10%
How should I react?
You should check the size of c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution -directory and make sure that updates are applied successfully to the device.
Which resources are affected?
In devices dashboard clicking the alert name, in alert list, filters the dashboard device list to contain all devices with the same alert.
Clicking 'Show more' link in the alert box expands the container to show the list of all affected devices.
