High number of devices has been repeatedly experiencing crash shutdown events.

What causes this alert/warning?

Shutdowns that are known to be due an actual crash ("bluescreening") due to faulty kernel-level code or from external conditions (faulty hardware etc.) are reported as crashing shutdowns. 

This alarm is caused by frequent unexpected crash shutdowns in a high number of devices. 

Threshold values

  • Any Windows crash BugCheck code that is not due to Driver Verifier (DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION, DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION, DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION,  DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION_LIVEDUMP) or macOS kernel panic
  • Over 10% of devices

How should I react?

This alert may indicate issues with the device hardware or drivers.

Reason for the crash shutdown should be checked and fixed, it can have a high impact on devices usability.

Which resources are affected?

In devices dashboard clicking the alert name, in alert list, filters the dashboard device list to contain all devices with the same alert.

Clicking 'Show more' link in the alert box expands the container to show the list of all affected devices.
